Indian Programmers Love Orkut More

More Indian software developers use Google’s Orkut social networking web site than rival sites like Facebook or MySpace, according to a new survey by IT market researcher Evans Data.

In general, Facebook and MySpace are more popular social networking sites in the U.S. although we don’t know where these sites stand vis-a-vis developers.

In a survey of 300 software developers in India, 73% said they’d used Orkut compared to 35% for Facebook and 32% for MySpace.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na - Box Office Report

Given that Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’s main actors (Imran Khan and Genelia) are both newcomers, the movie has had a decent opening at the U.S. box office in its opening weekend (July 4-6, 2008).

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na opened in 33 theaters in the U.S. and notched up a weekend gross of $205,203.

The movie’s average per theater worked out to $6,218.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na came in at No-19 at the U.S. box office for the July 4-6, 2008 weekend.

Total four-day weekend gross for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is $214,360.

Dumb Bollywood Director Blames Media

Looks like Harry Baweja, the jackass director of  Love Story 2050, is trying to find a scapegoat for the ho-hum reception to his crap-show of 2008.

After shoveling the biggest pile of manure at Bollywood fans, this Bumble-ja wannabe director had this to say about the media:

I really can’t come to terms with the way media has gone ahead and criticized the film. Of course, one has to respect the opinion of critics out there but in case of Love Story 2050, it is simply unbelievable to see the way they have reacted. ‘Unkind’ is the best word to describe the way some of them have gone ahead and reviewed the film. This is wrong criticism because neither have they looked at the film subjectively nor objectively. They have just written about the film with a simple motive to run it down. (source: IndiaFM)
