As if their torturous ripoff act on the big screen in a string of pathetic movies like Sarkar Raj, Bhoothnath, Umrao Jaan, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom were not bad enough, the Bachchans (Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya) are taking their ripoff act to a new arena.
Yes, the Bachchan flop triplets are now embarking on a live performances tour of recession-hit North America.
Like greedy pigs feeding at the trough, these box office disasters can’t seem to get enough. Just take a look at the obscene Ticket prices - for the New Jersey Show to be held in Atlantic City, Ticket Prices range from $750-$50.
Given the current serious economic crisis in North America, the high Ticket Prices for these shows and the box office disasters of recent movies featuring the Bachchan floplets, we think the show by the Bachchans should more aptly be called Ripoff Tour.
Of course, the Bachchans will whine that they don’t set Ticket Prices and some tickets will be available for $50. Well, Ticket Prices depend on how much money has to be paid to the performers. Wonder if you’ll need to bring a telescope along for the $50 seats at the very back.
You really think Bollywood fans would want to go and see a talentless fellow like Abhishek Bachchan in a live show. Talk of throwing good money after bad.
This clown is awful enough on the big screen. Gosh, what a nightmare Abhishek Bachchan’s last movie Sarkar Raj was.
Compounding the agony is the addition of incompetent actors like Aishwarya Bachchan and a spent force like Amitabh Bachchan.
At a recent press conference, this fella Amitabh Bachchan couldn’t even correctly pronounce the message they are supposedly bringing here - Global Walming (sic)…what the heck is that?
Other members of this Ripoff Tour include Preity Zinta and that non-actor Riteish Deshmukh.
Yeah, This is very true. I dont know how can they expect someone to pay $ 750 and see their kajraa re ham dance.

Yes you are right they (Bachchans) think they are on top of everyone (may be God) and people will come to them for $1000000 when they came here for Guru’s primere, they expected 50,000 people not even thousand people showed up ha ha ha what are they goin to do on the stage? same thing whatever they do in movies I don’t think people should go and see this show!

Really? What is your source for this? If you look at leading North American concert/show promoters like Live Nation, the bulk of the money from the actual show is made by artists. Were the venues in Toronto and Trinidad sold out with all customers paying full fees? We remain skeptical.

Remember Amitabh Bachchan is the same fellow who insisted Sarkar Raj was doing very well. No, Sarkar Raj did not do extremely well. At least, definitely not in North America. Go figure.
3. Failures usually blame everyone but seldom look into the mirror. Look at Amitabh’s blog. When this fella whines of sabotage by the media and the film fraternity, we think he doth protest too much.

We really doubt that the words Dignity and Amitabh can both be used in the same sentence. 1. Remember this is the same fellow who insisted Sarkar Raj was doing well and 2. This is also the same fella who profited from theft: His crappy Ek Ajanabee was an outright lift of Denzel Washington’s Man on Fire while the pathetic Hum Kisise Kum Nahin was a plain lift of Billy Crystal/Robert De Niro’s fine comedy Analyze This. 3. We also remember reading that Amitabh Bachchan was an agriculturist (honest, no kidding).
If Amitabh has dignity, then we are Alexander the Great.
By the way, we would also like to see audited details of the Miss World 1996 fiasco that Amitabh was involved in.
Forgettable controversies over Unforgettable show

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan might be ecstatic over the success of the inaugural show of his Unforgettable tour at the Rogers Center in Toronto, July 18, but there are conflicting reports about how many people actually watched some of India’s biggest movie stars do the Bollywood shimmy.
‘What a show,’ Amitabh gushed on his blog after the Toronto performance, which kicked off a world tour featuring him, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai , along with Preity Zinta. Akshay Kumar also performed in Toronto, but it is unlikely he will be part of the world tour. ‘Incredible, nonstop adrenaline! And the Torontonians, got it right this time, were just unbelievable. They spurred us on and item after item just went like a bomb,’ Amitabh continued, adding, ‘the revenue sold out. We have to open the tiers to accommodate more people and the fire marshals and security had the time of their life keeping the vibrant crowds in their seats.’
The Toronto Star reported that 10,000 people were present in a stadium that — even after cutting off one side completely for a 40′x70′ stage — could accommodate 30,000 people. It can seat up to 55,000 people when all the five levels are open.
India Abroad received several letters claiming there were not more than 8,000 people present. One letter writer lamented that ’such outstanding artists had to perform before empty seats.’
Amitabh BachchanRoger Nair, the distributor of the film Guru in Canada , said there were a maximum of 8,000 to 10,000 people present.
Peter Fonseca, Ontario’s minister of tourism, told India Abroad that there were 23,000 people present. When told there were reports contrary to that number, he said he would try and find out.
The tickets were initially priced at $97 to $287. The $97 tickets were sold at $60, because, apparently, there was not enough demand.
At the pre-show media briefing, a reporter complained that most South Asians would not be able to afford the high ticket prices. Amitabh replied, “I do not dictate or control this. The promoters do.”
One of the promoters chipped in, saying that some immediate alterations had already been made “to accommodate those that were finding the price steep.” He alleged that questions like these meant that “emphasis is being given to write the negative only and ignore the positive.”
There have been reports in the Indian media that a rival Bollywood star — or a clique of rival stars, it has not been spelled out — have been trying to ’sabotage’ the Unforgettable tour.
Preity ZintaAmitabh took exception to the reporter’s framing of the ticket-price question — “tickets are priced high in order that the Bachchans can jangle their jewellary on stage.” The Big B of Indian cinema called it “a most repulsive remark… We are not here for money. It is an opportunity for us to meet and greet our fans and provide them entertainment for a few hours. That is our wealth and our most prized jewellary. Nothing more.”
Despite repeated attempts, Ethnic Guru, the organisers of the show, were not available for comment on the ticket sales or the number of people who attended.
“A lot of factors could have influenced ticket sales — like timing, marketting, the experience of people handling it locally, getting the word out to the public and specially the fans, etc,” said a source in the event management industry, who did not wish to be named.
“Amitabh Bachchan is an icon of the Indian film industry,” said Roger Nair, “and his performance at the show was outstanding. I’ll cherish that for the rest of my life,” Nair said.
I am tamilian. But still admire at Malayalis reason being that they treat actors as actors .And they cannot be gods. Leave Bachans family. We are always running behind them. Mr.Bachan himself is not superstar. More than hits, he has more flops. They just want to make people feel busy so that they can endorse. U and me are not making money because of bachans.
